Medical Transcription
Transcription is the primary source of documentation to support billing charges, ensure regulatory compliance and provide protection against malpractice suits. Outsourcing the transcription function not only supports and hastens reimbursement, but it also provides the hospitals with the opportunity to carve off a non-core area and re-deploy resources to patient care. Transcription is the key to successful penetration of the healthcare BPO space as:

A. Transcribed data forms up to 50% of all patient data.
B. It is the first critical point of entry in the healthcare IT system.
C. It facilitates outsourcing of other services such as
document management, coding & billing.
As a result of our experience in health data management, we understand the impact that transcription has on patient care and a health organization’s reimbursement. That is why we developed a web-enabled solution that harnesses the power of technology to assist us in delivering quality, timely transcription.
Physicians may access our company’s Voice server platform with any accessible Computer or by Telephone in order to upload a patient’s medical information. The voice files are captured, compressed, encrypted and transferred over Medi-KareOnline’s Private Network to our central voice hub. The system moves digitized voice files to our MedicalTranscriptionists(MTs).

Based on each report’s priority and the current workload, our pooling utilities assigns work to available MTs. The MTs receives an encrypted, batch of work on their desktop for processing. With the delivery, we have already provided the MTs with standard ADT information, job formats, and physician information. The company’s MTs accepts these files over the Internet, plays back the voice recordings using headsets and foot pedals, and transcribes the voice to create the electronic documents. These completed electronic documents are returned to the processing center over the Internet. At this point, they are assigned to Quality Assurance Supervisors to undergo a rigorous review process. Following their acceptance, these documents are sent to the client’s Server for delivery. At this point the document can be sent electronically to the computerized patient record, a physician’s e-mail address, a printer, a fax machine, or to another client directed source.
A key strength of our offering is the numerous standard reports that are available real-time via the Internet. This includes the following reports: Bi-Monthly Summary, Daily Dictation Volume, Delivered Reports, Dictation Ready-To-Be Transcribed, Reports Awaiting Completion, and Detailed Reconciliation.
Of course all of our solutions comply with the current standards deemed by the Health and Human Services (HHS) guidelines, including HIPAA and HCFA. As a result of our experience in health data management, we understand the impact that transcription has on patient care and a health organization’s reimbursement. That is why we developed a web-enabled solution that harnesses the power of technology to assist us in delivering quality, timely transcription.
